2015 Jersey Search Continues8/24/2014 At the beginning of this month, concept art was shown of what could potentially be the 2015 Gateway Baseball Club jersey. While the details of the design were not finalized, the Club had decided to stick with the Teamwork brand jersey, but with updates to the text on the chest, as well as swapping colors between the AL and the NL. While things seemed to be set and an order was ready to be placed for a single "concept" jersey with the new supplier, the GBC now finds itself back at square one and shopping for a company to produce the jerseys.
After being told that the current supplier, EpicSports could not produce the new design, St. Louis Custom Gear became the next choice, as a personal favorite of some of the players. Unfortunately, they too said that they could not produce the type of product the Club was looking for. The St. Louis Dugout then became a serious candidate, with the idea that the club would order blank jerseys through the manufacturer, and then have them decorated at the St. Louis Dugout, who said that they could handle the job. The local sporting goods store Johnny Mac's, though, could cut the production time in half by ordering and decorating the jerseys all themselves, which in turn made up the minds of the men in charge of coming up with the new jerseys. However, due to slow communication, the GBC has turned its attention back to the St. Louis Dugout, in an attempt to see if they can make arrangements similar to that if Johnny Mac's and reduce their original expected production time. More calls and decisions are expected to be made this week, but in the mean time, players are left only with a piece of concept art. MLB News |
