Gateway Bat Company was founded by St. Louis native, Kyle Knisley. He and his brother, Corey, grew up with a passion for playing baseball, and focused on playing the game the right way.
In 2013, the Knisley brothers started the Gateway Baseball Club, a recreational baseball club that welcomed ball players of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. Some of the players had come from elite travel teams, high school, and even college baseball, while others had not even had the opportunity to play little league. As it grew, the Knisleys made sure that The Club maintained the values that they held so dear: passion for the game, sportsmanship on and off the field, and the traditions that make baseball great.
In keeping with these traditions, the club eventually made the decision to begin using only wood bats. The Knisleys knew, however, that often times a quality wood bat can cost far more than many of their players had available. Determined not to settle on low quality, they began the search for professional grade bats without the professional price tag. Eventually, they decided to take matters into their own hands, and the Gateway Bat Company was born.
Gateway Bats are made with professional grade ash and maple, and in a variety of turn models. Bats in every model can be completely customized, from paint colors to logo engravings, and everything in between. We also offer custom youth models, softball bats, and fungos. If there's anything you don't see in our store, or if you'd like a custom model, anything can be worked out, all you have to do is ask! Our goal is to continue to grow the sport while encouraging the values held by the Gateway Baseball Club. Teams and organizations of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to reach out to us for information on discounts and support from the Gateway Bat Company.
